If you are planning to tour Europe, you should consider the Liguria region of northern Italy, known as the Italian Riviera. This thin strip of land located in the Ligurian Sea, near Monaco and the French Riviera. While Liguria no means yet to be discovered, the crowds are much smaller than the front door.
